Who We Serve
Trips for Kids' mission is to provide transformative cycling experiences for underserved youth.
What does 'underserved' mean to us?
Example and definition from board meeting.
What does that look like in practice?
While open to all underserved youth able to attend, our Earn-a-Bike program focuses primarily on youth from ages * to * in greater Marin County, with a focus in San Rafael's Canal District.
Our Trail Rides program serves the broadest demographic with rides serving kids ranging from age * to *. We partner with multiple non-profit and government organizations across the Bay Area that each focus on a different need. A few examples of our Trail Ride partners include Project Avary, which offers long-term support, resources, guidance and training for children with incarcerated parents, and the Canal Alliance, which educates, empowers, supports, and partners with motivated immigrants and their families to best meet all their unique needs.
Finally, our Mobile Bike Workshop program partners with middle schools in the greater Marin County area that are in need of more active after-school activities. An example of a middle school we partner with is St. Vincent's which houses and provides therapeutic and compassionate education and care to boys in need.
