SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – January 20, 2016 – Trips for Kids Marin, the Bay Area’s non-profit renowned for taking underserved youth on mountain bike rides, is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved website: www.tripsforkidsmarin.org (previously, www.tripsforkids.org/marin). Alongside the recent leadership and branding transformation, the website steps comfortably into a modern age of digital philanthropy where visitors can easily share content through multiple social media platforms, volunteer at the click of a mouse, and enlist their own networks to support the cause.
“Since 1988, the Marin Chapter has changed the lives of nearly 30,000 underserved youth in the Bay Area through our cycling programs,” says Trips for Kids’ Executive Director, Kim Baenisch. “Our new website will make it easier for potential donors, volunteers, and youth agencies to help get more kids on bikes and into the great outdoors for years to come.”
The new site features a Google tour of the Re-Cyclery Bike Shop, which refurbishes donated bikes and sells them at deeply discounted prices, and connects visitors to its eBay store for incredible under-market deals on bike parts, accessories and more. Sales through these channels are vital to the organization's operations and currently generate 50% of its annual revenue.
“We’re excited to connect more people to our bike shop and online merchandise,” says Baenisch. “Not only are bike donations 100% tax deductible, each purchase supports our programs and helps our environment by keeping used bikes out of landfills. So it’s a win-win for our community.”
Created by local interactive web design agency, EIGHT25MEDIA, the site also features easy-to-access volunteer and program registration, a community events calendar, social media shareability, and a donation center. As part of TFK’s overall rebranding efforts, the national site, www.tripsforkids.org, is currently under construction and expected to launch next month.
