Camp Day Overview:
We will begin the day with team building games and bike safety checks at our Earn-a-Bike facility in San Rafael. From there we will drive in our passenger van to one of four Marin County locations: China Camp State Park, Rush Creek Preserve, Tennessee Valley or Mt. Tamalpais. At the trailhead we will practice fundamental bike skills needed to navigate the trail, like braking, shifting and body positioning. All trails ridden are beginner appropriate and used frequently during our school year programming.
After we’re confidant with our fundamental skills, it’s trail time! During our ride we’ll stop for nature moments, practice skills, try a new challenge, play games, share laughs and make lasting memories. The program will conclude with a closing circle reflection time before we head back to San Rafael. Camp Day will conclude at 4pm with after care available till 5:30pm.
For 30 years, Trips for Kids Marin has been providing transformative cycling experiences to underserved Bay Area youth and your participation will help us continue to share the joy of mountain biking with thousands of deserving youth each year.
